Prior’s Field Archive Online

In 2017, Lizanne Milton, a past parent and former Trustee of the Prior’s Field Foundation, along with her husband Robert, made a fantastic gift which allowed Prior’s Field to embark on a substantial Archive Project. Mrs Milton recognised that by better caring for our past, we can tell our story and gain inspiration today. A core part of the project has been the selection and digitisation of over 5000 pages of key Prior’s Field publications, and the creation of this Archive Online, which makes our history far more accessible to the school and wider communities.

As a school we are especially lucky in our history, founded in 1902 by Julia Huxley a pioneering woman connected to two extraordinary intellectual families, the Arnolds and the Huxleys, and starting life in a remarkable building, designed by the arts and crafts architect C F A Voysey.

Whether you are an Old Girl looking back on your school days, a family researcher whose ancestor was connected with Prior’s Field or a social historian investigating the local area or the broader topic of women’s education, we hope that you that you will gain much from this rich and fascinating resource.
